Airport Taxi

Amelia & Martin have been on holiday to Bali. We picked them up from the airport on Monday morning and then watched their holiday photos on the T.V. It looked absolutely stunning especially the elephant sanctuary. The link to Ameli's blog is at the bottom of the page if you would like to see them. Then it was off for a visit to the Villroy & Boch shop to see if there were any Easter bargains and yes I bought two Easter bunnies.

Easter Egg Hunt

This year it was far to cold for the children to have an Easter egg hunt in the garden. So we had an indoor hunt instead. I think the children had just as much fun. It was Frankie's turn to stay the night and he couldn't wait to get his new Spider man PJs on. He was ready for bed even before Abigail & Romain had left.

Happy Easter

I know Easter is very early this year but it still feels very wintry. The snow showers are not exciting as they don't settle enough to even make a snow ball. The wind is very icy and chills to the bone. I want to get out in the garden and sort out the pots............ We took Emilie to the cinema to see the Spiderwick Chronicles it may have been a mistake she held my hand so tight that the blood stopped flowing and had the rest of her body wrapped around Malcolm's arm she said you couldn't close your eyes because the scary bits were also the funny ones. I must say the Ogre was terrifying. I hope she doesn't have nightmare for too long.

Where did you get that hat?

Malcolm's head must have grown or his hat has shrunk as it no longer fits. Frankie now has it for dressing up. Looby Loo has grown too and now sits at the table in her new high chair. She is extremely vocal and noisy thank goodness she still has two naps a day.

It was twenty years ago today,Sgt Pepper!

Well actually it was 40 years ago today that Malcolm and I met. 40 years seems such a long time, well I suppose it is nearly half a century. We met in Chelsea I was nanny to Charty and Bluey and he was at St Mark & St Johns (Marjons) teacher training college...................and the rest is history as they say.

Tommy More Reunion UK

Malcolm was very adventurous and flew to the UK on his own to go to the first St Thomas More teachers reunion. He had a wonderful time catching up with old friends and colleagues. He stayed with Aaron & Anna it was the first time he had seen them since their marriage. The sun shone so he helped them with the pruning in the garden. Aaron made him a Lamb and Guinness pie. I wish the sun was shinning here if its not raining its snow/sleet. While he was away Amelia & Martin took me shopping and then we picked up Abigail and had dinner at Maybe Not Bobs yummmmmmmmmmmmmmy.

Emilie making progress

Emilie is making good progress with her piano lessons. Malcolm takes her to Esch on a Tuesday afternoon after school. There is just time to drop her bag go to the toilet and out the door. She eats her picnic lunch in the car on the way. I think she likes this time to just be with her Grandad.

Silent Movies

Saturday night thanks to Martin's Parents we had tickets to the Philharmonie. Along with Amelia Martin and Mike. Malcolm had been desperate to go to a concert there for some time. This was a concert with a difference it was the silent movie The Big Parade made in 1924 by King Vidor. The music was played by the Orchestra Philharmonique Du Luxembourg. I went for the film Malcolm the music, but shortly into the film you were so absorbed by the story you forgot there was no dialogue or that the music was live it was fantastic. The first half was quite funny American rich boy joining the army the second the realities of warfare and changed lives. We will definitely have to go again next year.

Supermarket

Lilly went shopping at Cactus our local supermarket for the first time. She thought it was fun until a man spoke to her and then patted her on the head she was not amused and screamed and screamed and screamed in the way of Violet Elizabeth..........Every week we have a delicacy or new item on display at the supermarket, this week it was a cake made on a rotating spit thingy. The mix was poured on then the oven closed for a short time then more mix until the cake was cooked.
In the evening we went for our first Indian in Luxembourg with Amelia Martin & Abigail and had a delicious meal unfortunately the photos didn't come out.

Snow

I said it would snow! Malcolm had started to spring clean and I had put my big winter boots away. Still it was very beautiful. Emilie and Frankie were not too happy as there was not enough to make a snowman.

Mothers Day

We still celebrate mothers day on the English date although it is not Mothers day in Luxembourg. Amelia and Martin were in Strasbourg and Aaron and Anna in Grenoble skiing. Abigail Romain and the children came round for dinner. Malcolm made the children cardboard rooms to furnish with an old Ikea catalogue which proved very popular.
