Aaron & Anna wedding announcement

We would like to announce the wedding of Aaron Phillips and Anna Helm on 23rd January 2008. As we have already set-up home together, we would prefer any wedding gifts to be given to charity. We have chosen the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as our charity. It is trying to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, which has affected many people, including Oli, Aaron's cousin. Giving through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to give: The Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. We would like to thank you for your kind gifts. Lots of Love, Mr & Mrs A Phillips xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Piano Lessons

Emilie was very keen to learn how to play the piano, so Romain found her a music teacher in Esch. So now we have to listen to her play her pieces every day oh the joys...........Abigail had a what not to wear book for Christmas so as a change from being Aggie & Kim we have been Trinny and Susannah. Abigail was a bell shape but there was no shape to match me. I was something like a short collum (very short) or half skittle half Cello, the mind boggles. So I am afraid I will still have to dress badly. We sent most of Abigail's clothes to the recycle bin and then on Saturday bought some new ones that followed the rules

A virtual wedding

Aaron & Anna got married today. It was ten years to the day that they met. So very romantic. We all went round to Abigail's and had a Chinese takeaway and a champagne toast via skype. We wish them lots of happiness in their new life .

Ground Hog Days

Frankie has what he calls walking days at school. Tuesdays or Thursdays the class go for a long walk, this week it was to the forrest. He was absolutely exhausted when he got back but I just loved the photo.Tuesday night Emilie was very sick again so out the dr came and the nurse to do the blood test, then samples had to go off to the lab (don't ask) but I was the hero, and now we wait for the results. Friday Frankie was sick all over the teachers and Romain when he collected him from school. The washing machine has been working overtime. Saturday for light relief we helped Amelia & Martin to move Amelia's stuff out of her apartment and into various lofts and caves ready for the hand back of the keys next month.

Oli's Tresco Marathon

In November 2007 my life was changed forever by an anonymous donor who gave me the greatest gift anyone could give: a new chance at life. While I lay in my hospital bed recovering, my brother announced that he would be following up his 2006 London Marathon by taking a team of Marines along with him - in full kit - to run the 2008 Tresco Marathon in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. He also announced, much to my surprise, that I was to be out of hospital and up and around in order that I could join them and run the last mile of the event with them.I am determined to make my new life count, to make the most of my two new lungs to do and achieve all kinds of things that I would never have been able to dream of. Naturally, I couldn't turn him down. So, on Sunday 13th April, I will join the merry band of Royal Marines in the final mile of the Tresco Marathon and attempt to run the whole 1500m to the finish line.I'm hoping to run at a rate of just 10p per yard - £150 in total - all of which will go direct to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, who have for years been instrumental in funding research into the disease in the hope of finding a cure for the country's 7,500 young sufferers and who have provided support not just to people with CF but their families and loved ones as well.Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.Thank you all for your support - and for keeping me honest in my quest for fitness!

Amelia's birthday dinner

Frankie was off school all week with the sick virus. We took Lillie for a little walk as the sun was shinning. She is not sure if she likes the great out doors much and cries to go home. She now has the sick virus too poor thing. Friday Amelia and Martin came for dinner as they had been to Ikea quite late after work. Saturday Malcolm, Abigail, Frankie and I went to the hairdressers where we caused great confusion as the appointments we had made were not quite the right ones, still it was all sorted out in the end. Saturday night was Amelia's birthday dinner in the city with Martin and his family. We had an Alsace meal at the restaurant we went to with Frank & Christine. Romain stayed home with Frank and Lillie who were not well enough to go. It was the second time he'd missed a nice dinner so I said I would baby sit if he wanted to take Abigail out one night.

A ship in a bottle

Well, we have had a quiet start to the new year. It was very sad taking down the decorations. I usually can't wait to get them put away and start spring cleaning but not this year very odd. Amelia bought Malcolm a ship in a bottle. Well not exactly, he had to put the ship in the bottle not an easy task he said. Poor Frankie now has the sick virus. We thought so much time had elapsed that we were in the clear but no, just hope that no one else goes down with it.
