Sunday Lunch

Sunday Lunch is a rare event for us in Luxembourg. Partly because we don't fancy it and partly because we cant cook it, well not Yorkshire puddings for a start. Abigail can do it but I blame my oven, well I have to because I could make pretty good ones in England. Anyway Abigail and family came on Sunday for late lunch. (she brought the Yorkshires)It was Lilies first visit. Frankie decided he didn't want to go home and was determined he was going to stay the night another first. He was as good as gold got into bed wearing a tee shirt and we didn't see him until 8am.

Frankie's 4th Birthday

How time flies 4 years old already.............Frankie had a lovely time opening his presents and telling Emilie that it was his birthday and they were his toys. He is a good boy though and was soon sharing. Abigail made him fairy cakes to take to school and a smartie cake for after lunch.

Some one is almost 4

Its Frankie's birthday tomorrow but Amelia will be back at work so she came over to give Frank his present. He was very pleased with his Diego fleece as he likes to lie on the floor to watch TV.

Fickle Finger of Fate

I wish the FFF would find another job. Amelia was back at the Dr who sent her to hospital on Monday and she was quite poorly all week. Wednesday Lilie was ill and back in hospital. Friday Amelia was back at Dr +hospital for more tests it still seems to be the gastroenteritis causing her problems. Lilie is home again wired up to a monitor and has to go back to hospital on Friday.

Back to the woods

Last week we went for a walk in the woods. We had such a nice time we thought if the weather was good we would return and look for the lake. Amelia and Martin decided to join us . Amelia was still not feeling very well but we only take things very easy so it was a very pleasant walk. we still didn't find the lake though so will have to return. It was 27c on the terrace when we got home so we had dinner out side. Martin had bought some whitebait it was delicious with salad. ( we had sausage and chips after in case you think we were too virtuous)

Normality

We seem to be getting back to a bit of normality at last. Frankie is back to his old cheerful self and is now enjoying school. Liliane is thriving. Emilie has been helping Malcolm in the vegetable garden and was very excited to have grown a carrot with boobies. Malcolm was pleased to have grown sweetcorn for the first time and very delicious it was too.

The woods

Here are the rest of the photos we took in the woods today. One shows long hanging tendrils from the tree not sure what they are. The last photo was Malcolm having his tea when we returnd home.

industrial heritage

Malcolm loves all the bits of old workings we come accoss .I dont know what these things are but he was quite pleased with them.

Fungus

Here are some of the mushrooms we saw today in the woods we were not sure if they were edible or not so left them alone. Avril would have known if we could
cook them but she wasnt here.......

Titelberg

Today was so beautiful we decided to go for a walk in the woods. There is supposed to be a stone circle nearby but we haven't found it yet. We did find a roman road and the remains of a fortification and settlement at Titelberg. I will have to look on the net to see what I can find out about it and keep you posted.

New Car

Aaron has been looking for a new car for a while. He wanted a diesel engine as it would be cheaper to run. At last he has found one is very pleased with it. Abigail and Romain and all the children have been poorly with gastroenteritis this week, quite a worry when Liliane is so small the Dr came out to see them all and they are now recovering. Poor Amelia got it on Saturday and spent the evening at the hospital.
