Olive

Malcolm's cousin Olive has died, sadly. Olive was more like an auntie to Colin Malcolm and Linda and will be very much missed by us all. She was the last of her generation in Cumberland. We all have lots of happy memories of holidays in her caravan at Silloth and always being made so very welcome at her home with Bob at Seaton. We made arrangements to fly to England as soon as we could.
Poor Emilie was very poorly this week a throat ear and chest infection.

Ten Pin Bowling

The snow seems to have gone now thank goodness and we have gone from -4 last Saturday to 25c today wonderful. Rhian stayed the night as Amelia and Marc went to the cinema. We all had lunch and then sat on on the terrace in the sun. Amelia and Rhian went for a bike ride. Later we met Abigail Romain and the children at the bowling alley Emilie was quite the expert but Frank was not sure what was happening but he soon got the hang of it in fact Abigail only just beat him by 81 to 79.

Sunday Lunch

Abigail is working full time now until July so we are very busy, at least the mornings are light now. We had a girls ballet and shopping day on Saturday with a disastrous lunch at Pizza Hut the service was appalling so we wont go there again. Amelia Rhian Caroline and Connor came to lunch on Sunday our first lunch guests we didn't do an English Sunday roast just a shepherds pie but it went down well then we went bowling.

Half Term

Goodness I didn't think our lives would still be run to a school timetable but there you go. It snowed rarther a lot so we were forced to stay at home in the warm all week, which was nice as we don't spend a lot of time here. Amelia and Rhian came round so they could build a snowman Rhian's first apprently..
I went to the hairdressers to get my hair coloured its now turning white instead of grey cant imagine why! I was quite pleased with it till Emilie said I only looked a little bit worse than before.
The week was rounded off on the Sunday with a village bonfire. The Junior Fire fighters collect all the old Christmas trees during the week and build a huge fire there is a torchlite parade around the village beer and sausages for refreshment and a little band for entertainment.. I think it is really a pagan event seeing out the old year and welcoming the sun back. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
