Old Friends

We had a busy week looking after Emilie and Frankie Abigail had a whole week of supply teaching. Malcolm went to see the Cardiologist and now we have to see a Pulmonologist if that's how you spell it for more tests. On Saturday we went to Brussels by train to meet June & Phil who were on holiday in Belgium to celebrate Junes important birthday. It was wonderful to see them both and catch up with news from England..It was rather cold so we had a leisurely lunch at Aux Arcades a wander round the cathedral a quick coffee and then sadly goodbyes.

Black Ice

Abigail had a weeks supply teaching this week but it meant very early starts for us. Emilie has to be at school for 8am its still dark when I leave her in the playground which is not lit so you can't see her to wave goodbye. I am not a morning person and on Tuesday as we ventured to school I slipped on some black ice so there we both were lying on our backs on the pavement looking at the sky. Emilie thought we should go back to grandad so he could drive her to school in the car, she's a very sensible girl. Nothing was broken just a few bruises thank goodness. The following day on the way back from school Emilie said this is were we fell down and I thought you were a little bit dead, poor girl, I think she was a little worried about me. I went shopping with Amelia and Abigail on Saturday a girls day out. Sunday Malcolm finished the jigsaw that Aaron and Anna bought him for his birthday and I cleaned the appartment what an exciting life.

Hoar Frost

Malcolm has been to the cardiologist and had an E.C.G. and an ultrasound but he needs a heart scan so we went to the hospital this morning unfortunately the scanner was broken so we have to return tomorrow. BUT the weather was unbelievable there had been a hoar frost in the night and every where was just so beautiful we also found a memorial stone to the U.S. army so that cheered Malcolm up no end.

Hair cuts

We went to the hairdressers today for the first time. When I tried to explained that I had trimmed mine several times with the kitchen scissors that's why it was such a mess. I think the girl thought she had a mad woman to contend with, still she did a good job. Malcolm then went to the doctor who gave him a good check up and was very efficient he found a slight problem with his lungs and sent him for an x ray and he has an appointment with a cardiologist next week. Saturday I went to the shops with Amelia we started in France clothes shopping not that we bought anything, then to Ikea in Belgium where Amelia bought Malcolm a Pine Martin. Finaly food shopping in Luxembourg. The sun came out on Sunday afternoon so we went for a walk in the woods.

2006 off with a bang.

New years eve a rocket landed on our car and has left quite a dent and a scorch mark much to Malcolms annoyance. Frankie has had bronchitis and Amelia Abigail Anna and I have all had very bad colds and coughs. I spent 3 days lying on the sofa listening to the radio and playing the DVD of a roaring fire Aaron gave me what with the snow outside it was strangly comforting. We also watched all the Band of Brothers DVD's I know as soon as the weather improves Malcolm is going to want to visit Bastogne. The Best news of the week was that Frank got the O.B.E for services to education.

Happy New Year

We had a Chinese takeaway at Abigail's and then at 11.45pm. we walked up to the park above the village to watch the fireworks Romain stayed with Frankie and put the Champagne in the fridge for our return. Emilie was allowed to stay up and insisted we took plastic cups and her Champagne to the park. So there we were at midnight drinking Kiddibul in Bob the Builder cups to celebrate our first New Year in Luxembourg. Who knows what 2006 will bring, a bit less upheaval than 2005 we hope.
