Emilie was very pleased with herself, she asked Grandad to take the stabilizers off her bike and help her to ride like the big guys. You can see from the photos how proud she was.
Our new sofas arrived from Ikea ( where else) lukily there is one each. Oh so comfortable after our deck chairs. The sun is still shining abt 26c on the terrace in the afternoon.
Can't believe Frankie is two years old the time has gone so fast. When he got up from his afternoon nap he he looked at his cards and presents and ran away. He had a lovely time opening his presents once he got the hang of it. Abigail had made him a Pepper Pig cake. He had a bike from his Booma and Borp he will soon have a motor bike like Aaron I think. We stayed at Abigails for the night and when Frank got up this morning he couldn't believe his eyes all the toys were still there!
Today would have been my dads 80th birthday. Happy Birthday Dad.
On Sundays there are no shops open or garden centers nothing. So its a bit like the 1950's in England Sundays go on & on. Our big treat is when Marc is working and Amelia goes to the English shop ( the only place open on Sundays) and buys us a English newspaper at huge expense and has lunch with us. This week we got the dolls house furnished and lit cant believe it took most of the day.
A better day today its still raining but who cares. This morning Malcolm did the ironing while I tidyded up. After lunch we went to meet Juliet who would like us to baby sit she was very nice and her daughter Isolde looked so much like Bryony............. We then had to meet Marc and Amelia in the city to pick up a sofa which just fitted into the car thank goodness. Had pizza with Amelia and Marc and Malcolm is now trying to make a light fitting for the bedroom from an old wire coathanger. The coathanger was successful and we now have light!
What a day we wanted to put up our bedroom light but of course the fittings are all the wrong size so we went to a kind of B & Q they had just what we needed but it was attached to a light ( which we didn't want ) so we asked if we could purchase a fitting like that one up there mate! Oh no no no you have to buy the whole thing at around a £100 when the fitting is worth about 75p urgggggggggg. We decide to have a coffee and a roll and Abigail phones " the woman from the house agents is coming to take photos can you pick Emilie up from school" so we duly pick up Emilie. We arrive home at 5pm after getting nothing done all day. Then The car insurance people ring back and say they need this paper about the car which we have never heard of and don't posses and we need to register the car which we cant do because we cant insure it with out this paper catch 22. Forgot to add it was the first cold wet orrible day. Just going to have a glass of wine bye.
Malcolm is feeling quite at home here we have been very lucky with the weather its still 25c on the terrace in the afternoon so he has a little drink and watches the sunset over the Ardenne.
What a week two new babies a little boy Edward for Clare and Mark in California and a little girl Evie for Gary and Lorraine in Essex love & congratulations to everyone especially the proud grandparents.
Well we are finally home at last it has taken a while but we made it. I even looked after 2 little boys on Wed & Thursday their childminder was ill so I picked them up from school and stayed till bedtime. I think our second home is Ikea but it drives you crazy that you have to walk all around to get back downstairs to pick up what you need. An American lady was at the checkout she had her list filled in and thought someone would go around the shop and get the things for her don't think she quite had the idea. We laughed till it was our turn to pay and we were in the cash only place and as you know we are never that organized.
